Who’s The Billboard Poster Child?

This week sees two solo artists sitting pretty on top of the US charts: Katy Perry and Chris Brown are respective queen of the singles and king of albums.

“E.T.” and F.A.M.E. are the big-hitters, but who’s getting more love on Last.fm? Today Last.fm Trends compares the weekly listeners of both acts to see who’s getting more scrobbling love.

Perry’s “E.T.” counts an overall total of 1,219,669 scrobbles from 113,563 listeners – much more than any of Brown’s hits – but it still can’t reach the top of Perry’s weekly charts, presided over by the unstoppable “Firework”.

Meanwhile, F.A.M.E.‘s lead track “Yeah 3x” has risen to the top of Brown’s weekly charts five months since its release, with a constantly rising Recent Listening Trend that’s gained a further spike with the album drop.

Whilst Perry’s been at the top of her game for a while now with hyped video premieres to keep her there, Brown’s star is still steadily rising. We’ll have to wait and see if he can join Katy in outer space.

Make sure that what you’re listening to counts by heading to Last.fm. Meanwhile, Last.fm Trends brings you the news in scrobbles every weekday.
