Ones To Watch At Coachella

Coachella is here, kicking off a huge summer of live music from some of the biggest bands in the world.

But while we all know which headliners to hold on for, who else should fans catch on the bill? Last.fm Trends takes a look.

Obviously Coachella’s huge lineup contains more than enough music to satisfy any taste (with the exception of a few jazz fans). But while fans of Radiohead, The Black Keys and Dr. Dre might know all the lyrics to Snoop Dogg‘s “Drop It Like It’s Hot” there are probably a few niche acts who could slip under the radar.

Fans of Radiohead’s more electronic material might enjoy Amon Tobin‘s sample-heavy set, or the eclectic chaos of Oberhofer, whose “Away Frm U” is a fan-favorite. Those of you into the bouncier side of Radiohead might enjoy Miike Snow, whose new album Happy To You is performing well among Last.fm listeners.

Meanwhile The Black Keys have been gaining fans steadily over the last year, and could deliver a defining set on Saturday. If you’re into them then Destroyer and Other Lives could well drop perfect sets for your taste. Manchester Orchestra‘s fans have a high crossover too, and their track “I Can Feel A Hot One” has been a solid favorite throughout the year.

And rap seems to be pretty well served by this year’s lineup too. Childish Gambino has been tearing up listener charts at Last.fm, and he’ll only continue that after his set on Saturday. Breakout star Azealia Banks is likely to be on form too, as the “212” singer boasts one of the fastest-rising fanbases of 2012 so far, as well as the hazier lyrics of Kendrick Lamar, whose “A.D.H.D.” sits on top of his listeners’ playlists. All of that comes ahead of Dr. Dre’s headline set on Sunday.
