It’s been almost two weeks since Amy Winehouse performed a disastrous gig in Serbia, prompting the cancellation of other European dates. With her website also hacked yesterday, things don’t seem to be going well.
However, today Last.fm Trends is looking at her popularity since then, to see if her fans are sticking with her through a rough patch.
The listener graph above is plotted over the last two weeks, with a peak appearing right as fans across the world watched videos of her onstage breakdown. Whether they were consoling themselves with recordings of how the songs should sound or not, it appears there’s truth to the old adage “all publicity is good publicity.”
At the track level, she’s also seen an uptick as of late. Whether she can hold on to those fans with a disrupted tour schedule remains to be seen, but tracks like “Rehab” continue to pull in over 8,000 unique listeners per week.
